In this section, I shall discuss the things i have learned from the online group working that we did. For this component, we were split into groups and worked in teams, applying an online discussion board as a conversation and exchange board, which raised a lot of issues regarding being able to properly collaborate with equality, because originally it absolutely was planned we might meet in person. We were learners from different disciplines; nursing and allied health professions, and by coming together to generate on the knowledge of interprofessional collaboration, we were engaging in what Vanclay (1998) called ‘interprofessional education'; particularly learning from, with and about the other person as professionals. We introduced ourselves to one another through our online group, and offered a brief format of our professional roles. Upon reflection, at a later date I would choose to spend more time upon introducing yourself to each other, and would consider using a lot of pairing away activities to travel into even more depth regarding our tasks with each other. I believe it would have got helped all of us become familiar with one another before starting to work together, which could have split up barriers to our communicating collectively. Douglas (2009 pg 68) illustrates this point by saying, " One particular major take into account successful partnerships is the amount of ease experienced professionals who work together with each other. ” As persons, we were necessary to produce six sentences (2 each about 3 themes); (i) conversation issues between health and sociable care experts, (ii) different professional perspectives/ values within just teams and (iii) stereotyping, power unbalances and crew processes. As a group, be it natural or processed, we had to select the best six of those. Since we had no head or co-ordinator, once we got all submitted our content to the discussion board, we recognized that the fairest way to find the final sentences would be simply by voting. Before we all began our online collaborating, I explored current books for information about effective effort in interprofessional working, to make myself even more aware of the advantages and potential pitfalls of working in by doing this. Our group worked well by recognising the importance of the person's opinions by simply promoting not judgmental attitudes, and we proved helpful equally to obtain the group operate produced. Nevertheless , I believed that because an interprofessional group, simply by putting a lot of emphasis on non judgmental perceptions, we were vulnerable to not being essential enough of each other when needed. In practice, this can lead to people not conversing openly and honestly, as a result of being not willing to change the group energetic or to get fear of getting perceived as ‘difficult'. Meads et al (2005) state that one of the most agreeable of collaborations aren't necessarily the most effective because they could avoid issues perceived as complicated or demanding. The task of producing the content online was a positive knowledge both separately and for us a group, mainly because we were up against challenges adjacent communication plus the equal label of power.
