American psychologist Erik Erikson once stated, “In the cultural jungle of human living, there is absolutely no feeling of being alive with out a sense of identity.” Identification, as explained by Erikson, can be an essential element of human character and is impossible to live without. One’s identification often dictates what a person says or will, how you might think and behave. Identification is also powerful; it changes as a person ages as you is bombarded with interpersonal influences in the kinds of the friends and persons one is about, the engagement of press, and the genetic characteristics one possesses. Nevertheless, the main of one’s identification is often developed young by us and society by giving an individual the ideals and concepts one will retain for the others of one’s life together with a host that groups together similarly aged individuals predicated on the common culture of these individuals.
